New ways of working
This post describes how LM Plumbing Services was working in May 2020. It is kept here as it was published, with the date left visible. It is not presented as a current set of rules.
We wrote that the full range of plumbing services was available again, with processes aimed at the safety of the team and customers, plus in-house training. They also said customers stayed at the centre of the work, and thanked people for their support.
Measures in the post
- Attend only at the customer's request, and where the customer is not self-isolating.
- Any team member who should be self-isolating will not be on site.
- Travel to and from work alone.
- Social distancing between the team and clients.
- Agree the entrance and exit before the job, separate from the customer where possible.
- Wash or sanitise hands on entering and leaving, and at intervals during the job.
- PPE, including gloves and face masks, worn in line with the guidance and training we had given.
- Stay in the work area, without unnecessary movement through the home or premises.
- Stagger trades so only the necessary people are on site at one time.
- Disinfect the work area at the end of a session or day, and clean touchpoints such as doors and handles through the day.
- Keep in touch through the job by phone, video, message and email, as well as in person at a distance.
